Oceania Cruises sails to Alaska in the summer months, taking guests on 7- to 11-day itineraries through the Northwest Passage. Sail roundtrip from Seattle or Vancouver, or leave from San Francisco and catch a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. While in Alaska, enjoy stunning sights like Hubbard Glacier and Tongass National Park, and travel freely knowing your floating home is always nearby to retreat to after a long day of adventure. Oceania has decked out their ships with beautiful spas and fitness centers, sophisticated dining venues and luxurious staterooms and suites, and built out a top-notch service team to cater to all your needs while onboard.
Built in 1998 and refurbished in 2011, the Regatta is the flagship of the Oceania Cruises fleet. She carries 684 guests and 400 staff - a ratio few other lines can match. Nearly 70 percent of the ship's 342 suites and staterooms feature private verandas, where guests can enjoy meals, a good book, or simply the stunning ocean views any time of day. Along with beautifully decorated neo-classical furnishings and custom stone and tile work, the Regatta boasts 8 lounges and bars, multiple delicious restaurants, a world-class fitness center, and a spacious sun deck with a fitness track, golf putting green, shuffleboard court, pool and spa terrace. The Regatta sails to Alaska in the summer months between May and September, with departures from Seattle, San Francisco, and Vancouver.
Space, style, and tranquility are the name of the game aboard an Oceania Cruise to Alaska. Both suites and staterooms include a queen-size Prestige Tranquility bed, topped with a two-inch pillow top cushion, 1,000-thread-count linens, a plush down comforter and hand-quilted throws. Each room also has a refrigerated mini-bar stocked with free and unlimited sodas and bottled water, replenished daily; Bulgari amenities; a full-sized bathtub; a flat-screen TV and DVD player; and Wireless Internet access. Twice daily-maid service means you'll always feel pampered and tidy, and signature Belgian chocolates delivered with nightly turndown service serves as just another reminder of Oceania's attention to detail. There are plenty of suites and staterooms to choose from, including more economical choices like an Inside Stateroom or Ocean View Stateroom, all the way up to the lavish Vista Suite or Owner's Suite.
For guests staying in a suite, amenities and services include 24-hour butler service, course-by-course in-suite dining, priority shore excursion and restaurant reservations, complimentary garment pressing and shoe service, and more.
While in port, Oceania has dozens of excursions available for guests to choose from, whether you're looking for adventurous activities like hiking and kayaking or something more relaxed like panning for gold or learning about the Alaska Street Car Company. Booking an excursion with Oceania means worry-free transportation, knowledgeable English-speaking guides to lead you, and a low-price guarantee. Excursions start pierside for convenience and security, and you won't have to worry about returning to the ship on time - the logistics are all taken care of, so you can just sit back, enjoy, and have fun.
Shore Excursion Collections offer substantial savings from the a la carte list price, and give you priority access to booking excursions. The Unlimited Passport Collection allows you access to unlimited shore excursions throughout your voyage, and results in up to 40% off retail prices. If you'd like the flexibility to design your own collection, you can choose your desired number of excursions from the entire selection. Called the Your World Collection, this package saves you 25% off retail prices.
Some of the shore excursions Oceania Cruises offers in Alaska include:
With a slogan touting "The Finest Cuisine at Sea," you're in for an exciting culinary experience while onboard an Oceania Cruise to Alaska. Master Chef Jacques Pepin serves as Oceania's culinary director, creating exquisite menus sure to thrill any and all palates. Each dish is made just for you, rather than en masse, and the dining staff is happy to accommodate your individual preferences. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from while sailing, from the Italian-inspired Toscana to the steak and seafood menu at Polo Grill. Pick up a made-to-order American favorite at the Terrace Cafe, or an illy specialty coffee and fresh sandwich at Baristas. There's also French cuisine at Jacques, and Asian-inspired meals at Red Ginger.
Of course, you can always head to the Grand Dining Room, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with no reservations needed. Here you'll be treated to the best of both worlds - no table seatings or fixed times, but an elegant ambiance and a table setting complete with fine cotton linens, bone china, Riedel crystal and gleaming silver. Select from a menu with at least 10 appetizers, soups, salads, and 12 dinner entrees.
When you want a quick bite without leaving the top deck, dine at Waves Grill, serving up burgers and milkshakes by the pool. Room service is available 24 hours a day, and soft drinks and bottled water are unlimited and complimentary. If you're staying in a suite, enjoy gourmet canapes delivered to your door each evening, as well as to all bars and lounges throughout the Regatta.
Oceania's superb entertainment and enrichment programming ensures you'll never have a dull moment while sailing to and through Alaska. There's truly something for everyone, whether you want to spend time exercising, reading, laughing, shopping, or simply relaxing. Spend a leisurely afternoon in the English-style library, curled up in a plush leather armchair with one of the library's 2,000-plus books and periodicals. Make afternoon tea a regular event - each day at 4:00 p.m., head to Horizons for pastries, finger sandwiches, desserts and of course, a wide selection of tea, as you listen to the soft music of a classical string quartet playing in the background.
Take a dip in the large heated pool, or soak in one of two whirlpool spas. Stay active at sea on the Sports Deck, where you can play shuffleboard or a cool nine holes of golf on the putting green. A fitness center is stocked with state-of-the-art equipment, and hosts private and group fitness classes for Yoga, Pilates, and aerobics. Wind down post-workout in the sauna or steam room, and then treat yourself to a Canyon Ranch SpaClub treatment. Massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials, manicures; you name it, Canyon Ranch has it ready for you.
Several boutiques on board feature jewelry, fragrances, and designer casual wear for guests to browse. The ship has a 24-hour internet center, Oceania@Sea, so you can stay connected to friends and family back home. Enrichment opportunities include guest lectures by authors, Broadway stars, politicians, sportscasters and more, as well as Canyon Ranch health and wellness seminars, trivia, wine tastings and more.
In the evenings, entertainment abounds. Action-packed casinos have an array of games, from reel slots to video slots and video poker machines. Free gaming lessons are available for new players, and cashless wagering allows you to game with your key card. String quartets, pianists, and jazz groups perform sets in lounges and bars, and production shows like "Tuxedo," based on the Rat Pack, and "Get on the Floor and Dance," featuring hits from artists such as Gloria Estefan and Michael Buble are performed in the Lounge. Several bars & lounges offer spaces to enjoy a cocktail, go dancing, listen to live music or enjoy a comedy show, and mingle with new friends.
While guests of all ages are invited to sail with Oceania, the line does not have any dedicated children's programming or supervision onboard normal cruises. However, Oceania does offer an Alaska Explorer Youth Program on many sailings, which is designed for kids 5 to 12 and includes games, activities, and Alaska-inspired special events, all under the supervision of experienced youth counselors. Contact your Cruise Specialist if you have any additional questions regarding the youth program.
All Oceania Cruises guests are automatically welcomed into the Oceania Club loyalty program after their first cruise. Membership in this club brings many benefits exclusive to past guests, including Oceania Club cocktail parties hosted by the Captain and Senior Officers; savings on future cruises, pre-paid gratuities, free spa treatments, a complimentary subscription to the Oceania Club Journal, and membership pins awarded at each level. The more you cruise, the more you earn; as you move up through the seven levels of membership, shipboard credits increase and more perks are added.
If you are an Oceania Club member, let your Cruise Specialist know at the time of booking to ensure all potential discounts and rewards are applied.
Oceania aims to make the cruising experience comfortable and enjoyable for all its customers. As such, Oceania has made sure to build ships that are accessible throughout, with features like corridors that allow for 180-degree wheelchair turns. The Regatta has several accessible staterooms and suites, which feature wider doors at the entryway and bathrooms that accommodate wheelchairs and have roll-in showers, grab bars and an alert button.
Room kits featuring visual and tactile alert systems are available for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing, and televisions provide closed captioning on most channels. Though the doors on decks are wooden, not automatic, the more than 400 staff members onboard are always nearby to assist with opening doors. These staff members can also assist in carrying trays on buffet lines, getting drinks and accommodating special needs as they arise.
Let your Cruise Specialist know of any specific needs at the time of booking and they will be happy to arrange the necessary preparations.
