Cancellation Updates:
Recent updates have been made to cancellation schedules and refund guidelines for various cruise lines. Contact your Sales Agent or our Customer Service department online, via email, or by phone at 1-800-201-6937 and ask about potential opportunities for flexible cancellation policies, rebooking opportunities and other options.
Planning an expedition with HX (HX Expeditions, formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) requires careful attention to their specific booking and cancellation policies. Because HX operates remote itineraries to destinations such as Antarctica, Greenland, Galapagos, and Svalbard, their cancellation fee structure is tiered based on how far in advance notice is provided before departure.
You or anyone included in your reservation has the right to cancel a booking at any time. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by the primary individual named on the reservation. The official date of cancellation is defined as the date HX receives the written notice.
Cancellation charges are calculated based on total fares paid to HX for all trip components, including expedition cruise fare, pre/post-land packages, charter flights, and excursions. No refunds are issued for guests who fail to present valid travel documentation, do not show up for departure, or do not complete their voyage.
Cancellation fees are assessed per passenger as a percentage of the total package fare according to the schedule below:
| Days Prior to Departure | Cancellation Charge Per Guest |
|---|---|
| 90+ - Days | 25% of total voyage fare (Non-refundable deposit) |
| 89 - 60 Days | 20% of total fare |
| 59 - 28 Days | 30% of total fare |
| 27 - 14 Days | 60% of total fare |
| 13 - 0 Days | 90% of total fare |

Cancellation charges are calculated based on total fares paid to HX Expeditions for all trip components, including cruise fare, pre/post-packages, and excursions. No refunds will be issued for guests who fail to present required travel documentation, do not show up for departure, or interrupt their voyage. Cancellation fees apply regardless of whether the cruise line is able to resell the canceled accommodations.
Cancellation Policies are subject to change by the cruise line. For the most current HX Expeditions and Refund Policies, please refer to the HX Expeditions website or a HX Expeditions brochure.
