Costa Cruises combines traditional Italian hospitality with contemporary international safety standards across its fleet. Following the lifting of universal travel restrictions, Costa has focused its health framework on digital efficiency, professional shipboard medical services, and preventative sanitation practices.

• Digital Health Assessment: Passengers must complete an online web check-in process opening 10 days before departure, which includes a mandatory medical self-certification form detailing their health status before a boarding pass is issued.
• Onboard Medical Care: Every ship features a fully staffed medical center operating with licensed doctors and nurses. These facilities meet or exceed American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) guidelines, providing 24/7 emergency response alongside scheduled daily clinical hours.
• Sanitation and Disinfection: Public areas, high-traffic corridors, and staterooms undergo continuous deep-cleaning utilizing certified disinfectant detergents. Hand sanitizing stations are distributed at all main dining venues, lounges, and gangways.
• Gastrointestinal Prevention: To prevent the transmission of common seasonal or maritime illnesses like norovirus, the crew enforces specialized sanitation operations, including targeted surface disinfection and strict hand-hygiene directives for both guests and shipboard personnel.
• Sailing Age and Pregnancy Restrictions: Infants must be at least 6 months old to board, which increases to 12 months for transoceanic Grand Voyages, World Cruises, or itineraries exceeding 15 days. For maternal safety, Costa cannot accommodate passengers who will enter or exceed their 24th week of pregnancy at any point during the sailing.
