Perfect for families, young travelers, and adventurous, seasoned cruisers alike, a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska is an experience to remember. Norwegian Cruise Line has been an innovator in cruising during its 50 years at sea, pioneering Freestyle Cruising - you won't find any fixed dining times here. With a large selection of accommodations, delectable dining options, top-notch entertainment and exceptional shore excursions and cruisetours to choose from, Norwegian continues to add to what a cruise experience can be, both on ship and off.
Cruise to Alaska with Norwegian Cruise Line and enjoy the line's Freestyle Cruising atmosphere. Choose from 7-, 10-, or 11-day itineraries and leave from Seattle, Vancouver, or Seward. Sail on a regular cruise, or add on a cruisetour for more time in Alaska. Enjoy a four-course meal each night, or sample from a new restaurant every day. Choice is key on a Norwegian Cruise, and NCL makes sure guests have plenty of options. While in Alaska, guests can enjoy the serene natural settings, observe animals in their natural habitat, learn about the culture and history of Alaska's quaint towns, and experience the spectacular midnight sun, all while staying on modern ships decked out with all the amenities one could want.
With colorfully designed, modern and innovative ships, you'll be able to spot your home-away-from-home a mile away. Three of Norwegian's ships sail to Alaska, with a fourth launching in 2018 - the Norwegian Bliss. The Norwegian Jewel, Pearl and Sun have all been refurbished since 2014, and each carry between 1,900 and 2,400 guests. With more than 900 crew members sailing on board, you can be sure your needs are always met. These ships are some of the youngest sailing to Alaska today, and come with more than a dozen dining options, several bars and lounges, a lively casino and serene spa, and plenty of rocking entertainment.
On Norwegian cruise ships, inside cabins are as comfortable as suites with an array of stylish, bright decor, sleek cabinets and furniture, and sitting areas in every room. In an ocean view, balcony, mini-suite or suite you'll have a view of the stunning sea any time of day, and can enjoy the cool sea air whenever you please. In suites and penthouses, the luxury continues with large balconies, lavish bath tubs, butler and concierge service, and perks like an exclusive suite menu and complimentary champagne.
All ships have Family Mini-Suites, Balconies, Ocean views and Inside staterooms, as well as interconnecting staterooms, so you can be close by friends and family if you wish. Wherever you stay, enjoy Bliss Collection by Norwegian linens, pillows, and mattress toppers; room service menus; coffee and tea in room; a TV, refrigerator, safe and hair dryer.
While the journey is just as fun as the destination onboard a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska, the excitement surely doesn't stop when you disembark in port. Norwegian has created more than 145 shore excursions in its six Alaskan ports of call, so you can dive right into adventure without thinking twice about the logistics. View wildlife in its natural setting, drink hot chocolate aboard a small catamaran, or learn more about Alaska's interesting and unique culture while interacting with locals.
Some of the shore excursions Norwegian Cruise Line offers in Alaska include:
Norwegian understands that sometimes a week just isn't enough. They've created a number of Alaska cruisetours led by local Alaskan guides for travelers who want more time in port before or after a cruise. Spend a few extra nights in Fairbanks, take a train to Denali Park, and stop to look at the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline. Or, travel the Alaska Railroad from Denali to Talkeetna, where you'll get one of the best vantage points of Mt. McKinley, and tour the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Alaska cruisetours extend your vacation and afford the opportunity to make even more memories in one of the country's most beautiful regions.
On a Norwegian Cruise to Alaska, your fare includes complimentary dining in the ships' two main dining rooms, a delicious and varied buffet, and a number of cafes, grills, and quick-service restaurants. Eat inside or outside, with a group of new friends or in the comfort of your own suite. With nearly 20 options available on each ship, you're not tied down to a certain time or place.
Enjoy a classic American meal at O'Sheehan's, or a savory noodle dish at Chin Asian Restaurant. In the main dining rooms, you can expect a rotating menu, fresh ingredients, and hearty dishes. The Sky High Bar & Grill serves hot dogs, hamburgers, and bratwurst, while the garden cafe has all the soups, salads, and pasta you could ask for.
There are also a number of specialty dining options aboard Norwegian ships; dine at just one, or purchase a Specialty Dining Package to sample them all throughout your cruise. Though they differ by ship, specialty restaurants include the Moderno Churrascaria Brazilian steakhouse; Le Bistro Fresh Restaurant; and La Cucina, serving dishes inspired by the Tuscan countryside.
Beverage packages are available for all age groups - treat your kids and teens to unlimited soda throughout their cruise for $5-7 per day, depending on their age, and treat yourself to the Ultimate Beverage Package, available to anyone 21 and up and starting at $70 per day. This package allows you an unlimited array of soft drinks, beers, wines, cocktails and spirits while you sail. There is also a Corks and Caps Wine and Beer Package available.
As you sail from the Pacific Northwest, enjoy the many amenities and entertainment Norwegian Cruise Line has to offer. Sailing on a large, contemporary ship means nonstop fun, whether you're a movie buff, theater lover, or card shark. Enjoy an evening in the Sun Casino playing Roulette, Blackjack or Craps, or laugh till your sides hurt at a comedy variety show. The luxurious Mandara Spa offers more than 50 specialty treatments, from hot-stone massages to acupuncture.
On the Norwegian Pearl, "Legends in Concert" pays tributes to some of the world's musical greats, like Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, and a four-lane bowling alley serves up fun for the whole family. Each ship has its own collection of bars, lounges, and dance clubs, so you can find a space that fits your mood each night of the week, whether it's a beer at the sports bar, a dance party at Dazzles Nightclub, or a frosty beverage poolside at Topsiders Bar. If you'd like to stay active, head to the ships' state-of-the-art fitness center, equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, stair-steppers, medicine balls, and free weights, as well as group classes like yoga and Pilates.
Summer is the perfect time to go to Alaska, and an ideal time for a family vacation. With this in mind, Norwegian Cruise Line has prepared plenty of onboard activities so children will enjoy the journey as much as parents on a cruise to Alaska. There are three youth programs grouped by age: Guppies, for kids 6 months to 3 years; Splash Academy, for kids 3 to 12; and Entourage, for teens 13 to 17. Norwegian's trained youth staff will keep an eye on your precious cargo and lead them in fun activities like sports, arts and crafts, dance parties, treasure hunts, and more.
When mom and dad want some alone time, group sitting is available. On days in port and in the evenings, kids age 3 to 12 can spend time with other kids their age and the youth staff at Port Play or the Late Night Fun Zone.

Norwegian prides itself on being one of the most accessible-friendly cruise lines at sea, and is dedicated to making your cruise experience as carefree as possible. In order to do so, Norwegian suggests alerting a Cruise Specialist of any special needs you may require at least 30 days prior to sailing, and 90 days in advance if an interpreter is needed.
Most Norwegian ships have up to 27 wheelchair accessible staterooms on board. These include grab bars throughout the bathrooms, raised beds, adjustable hanging rods, and extra-wide doors for easy wheelchair or scooter access. Many theaters onboard have pre-determined wheelchair positions; if not, wheelchair seating can always be arranged. However, many of the ports in Alaska are tender ports, meaning guests are taken ashore on smaller boats; this can be difficult for guests in scooters or wheelchairs.
